The ASCEND Collective is here to help folks find meaningful employment, especially for underserved people in circumstances that create extra barriers to a solid paycheck. While we can equip you with a variety of skills to leverage your current experience, there’s no harm in adding certifications and other qualifiers that solidify your subject matter expertise – or provide a major career change!

The U.S. Department of Labor website apprenticeship.gov has hundreds of jobs and vocational internships to expand your career experience and set you apart from other candidates seeking the same job you are. In fact, according to the Department of Labor, 94% of people who finish an apprenticeship retain employment with the company they’ve been working with – and that’s not counting the opportunities available after completion!

One of The ASCEND Collective’s favorite aspects of helping candidates develop job-hunting skills is storytelling. Packaging a lived experience into a one or two-minute story for a job interview can be challenging but is incredibly effective at communicating your background, skills, and lessons learned. We can help you land that apprenticeship – and the job afterward!
