This month, we celebrate the 250th birthday of the United States Navy — a legacy built on courage, service, and sacrifice.
For our Founder, Robyn Grable, who proudly wore the uniform for nine years, this milestone fills her with deep gratitude and reflection. Once a Sailor, always a Sailor — those words stay with you long after the sea calls you home.
🌊 The Legacy of the U.S. Navy
Since October 13, 1775, Sailors have answered the call to defend freedom across every ocean and in every era. From wooden ships and sails to nuclear carriers and cyber defense, the Navy has always been about more than technology or tactics — it’s about people.
People who leave their families for months at a time.
People who stand watch through the night.
People who live by three words that define them: Honor. Courage. Commitment.
These aren’t just values etched on plaques — they’re a way of life that shapes who they are, even long after the uniform comes off.
⚓️ The Transition: When the Sea Grows Still
Leaving the military is one of the hardest transitions a person can make. Going from a world of structure, camaraderie, and shared purpose to one where the mission suddenly becomes personal — figuring out what’s next.
For many veterans, the struggle isn’t ability — it’s visibility.
Employers see a résumé but not the years of discipline, leadership, and adaptability behind it.
They see job titles, not transferable skills.
They see “veteran,” but not “strategic thinker,” “team builder,” or “problem solver.”
That disconnect is why too many talented veterans face underemployment or long job searches after serving our country.
🚀 Our Mission: Bridging the Gap with Veterans ASCEND
That’s exactly why Veterans ASCEND exists — to change the way hiring happens.
We’ve built a system that translates military experience into skills-first profiles that employers can easily understand. No buzzwords. No confusion. Just clear, verified skills that match directly with workforce needs.
We don’t ask veterans to change who they are — we help the world see who they’ve always been.
Every veteran deserves more than a “thank you.” They deserve opportunity, dignity, and a fair chance to continue serving — this time, through meaningful careers that value what they bring to the table.
🌟 From the Deck to the Workforce
As the Navy celebrates 250 years of service, our team is reminded that the call to serve doesn’t end when the uniform comes off — it simply changes shape.
At The ASCEND Collective®, we’re honored to carry that mission forward: helping veterans, military spouses, and underserved talent chart new courses toward careers that recognize their worth.
So today, as we salute every Sailor — past and present — we also salute every veteran navigating their next chapter.
Your service mattered then.
It matters now.
And we’re here to make sure the world never forgets that.
Fair winds and following seas — always. ⚓️
